Achieving a charming second home and a lucrative holiday let
The beauty and calm of this little flint cottage forming part of a merchant's house were eclipsed by the total state of disrepair it was in when I started work on it. The property required urgent structural repairs, involving the rebuilding of the outside rear wall and the replacement of the back windows and door.
By removing a secondary chimney at the rear of the property, I opened up the kitchen and rear bedroom substantially. Finally I transformed the back garden by fully re-landscaping it and creating a summer house from a dilapidated outbuilding.
