Creating two stylish homes to meet the exacting demands of the Islington market
This Georgian terrace had been unsympathetically converted into two flats in the early 1980s. When I bought the upper flat, I immediately set about structural works to remedy the mismatched layout which had meant that the bathroom was on a different floor to the bedrooms.
Subsequently when I bought downstairs, I overcame the same problem by extending one of the cellars under the pavement and converting it into a bathroom. I put in a light well at the back of the flat and added a modern stainless steel staircase to give access to the garden.
